About island of Rab

The name of Rab is first time mentioned in the year 1446, in a foundation document of the monastery of the Holy Euphemius in the village of Kampor. The old origin word was ARB which means dark, green, wooden and was translated into the antique names Arba, Arva, Arbia. For lovers of history and culture the island of Rab is a big amazement. If you for example stroll through the streets of the old town you can admire a lot of buildings of the roman style, gothic portals, baroque altars and windows of the rennaissance with wonderful ornaments. Rab is also very famous for his four bell towers. Tis is why Rab is also called the “town with the four bell towers”. The bell tower of the basilca is dominating over the city and is one of the nicest buildings of the latest romanticism. Beside the ancient town, there are seven other idyllic places to explore: Barbat, Banjol, Palit, Kampor, Mundanije, Supetarska Draga and Lopar. There are approximately 9000 inhabitants who live mostly by agriculture, fishing, shipbuilding and tourism. Today, the tradition of organised tourism already celebrates its 112 anniversary. Rab has lush vegetation and not only autochtonous oak woods but also other evergreen forests cover the island. The mountain chain Kamenjak protects the island from cold winds so it has a predominantly pleasant Mediterranean climate with more than 2600 hours of sunshine a year.

About Palit

Even though being the youngest village on the island, it is important to point out that it is at the same time the closest to the old town centre with all its contents. In Palit there is a beach called Škver from where you can enjoy a beautiful view onto the peninsula of Frkanj, which can be reached by foot along the sea promenade or by boat. King Edward VII and his wife Wallis Simpson enjoyed their royal nude bathing in the mentioned bay on the peninsula of Frkanj while visiting Rab in 1936, and this is how Rab became known as cradle of nudism. By this, Kandalora became the oldest nudist beach at the Adriatic Sea and the whole peninsula of Frkanj is known as „Island of Love“. CNN therefore pronounced Rab as top destination for fans of nudism.

About us

We have been renting apartments for over 30 years and offer apartments for 2+1 persons, as well as apartments for 4+1 persons. All apartments are equipped with AC, SAT/TV and internet access (WIFI hotspot). The apartments are in a very peaceful location, almost perfect for a vacation. In front of the house there is a parking lot and a grill for the preparation of meat and fish. The apartments are located only 400m away from the sea and 800m away from the town centre. A grocery store and a restaurant are only 200m away. Pets are welcome.
